A SCRUM-PTIOUS START!
The rugby season kicked off with a bang at Cork’s Virgin Media Park on 6th September, where Munster Rugby took on Gloucester in a thrilling pre-season friendly. Fans were on the edge of their seats as Munster charged into the 2024/25 season.
At the 2023/24 Munster Rugby Awards earlier this season, John Hodnett and Muirne Wall stole the spotlight as the inaugural winners of the Virgin Media Supporters’ Player of the Year awards. Voted for by fans, John impressed with three tries in 18 appearances, while Muirne was a standout in the Women’s Interprovincial Championship. Both players have deep roots in Munster’s club system, making their wins even more special.
To add to the excitement, we hosted a cracking competition, giving away ve pairs of coveted season tickets to lucky customers. Huge cheers to the winners, Michael Twomey, Donagh Glavin, Philip Cullen, Sean O’Mahony, and Simona Bordean — you’ ll be enjoying every scrum and try from the best seats in the house! HEUSTON, WE HAVE A PLAYTIME TAKEOVER!
For two weeks, Virgin Media turned Heuston Station into a hub of fun and games, bringing a fresh twist to the daily commute. Passers-by got to dive into puzzles, quizzes, and the highlight of the event – Playtime Defenders, an interactive game on a giant digital screen where your phone became the controller. Whether you joined in or just watched the action unfold, it was a playful break from the everyday routine. Heuston Station became more than just a pitstop – for a short while, it was the place to play!
